Silica-based, irregular, endcapped C8 phase: particle size 50 µm, pore size 60 Å, carbon 11%. It offers moderate hydrophobicity and replaces C18 when retention there is too strong; simultaneous extraction of fat- and water-soluble vitamins and pesticides is cited.
