Silica-based aminopropyl phase (non-endcapped): particle size 50 µm, pore size 60 Å, carbon 5%, pKa 9.8. It is a weaker anion exchanger than SAX for very strong anions such as sulfonic acids that may be retained irreversibly on SAX; used to separate peptides, drugs and metabolites from physiological fluids and to extract sugars, steroids, cholesterol and triglycerides.
