Friability testing checks the durability of tablets during packing and transit by repeatedly dropping a sample in a rotating drum with a baffle and inspecting for broken tablets and the percentage of mass lost. The manufacturer states all friability testers comply with current USP, EP and JP pharmacopoeias and include friability (Roche) drums as standard; abrasion drums and anti-static coated drums are optional.
