Hard gelatin capsules are checked from outside and for contents by 14 cameras including infrared. Defects such as double caps, print errors and fill problems are rejected. Speed depends on capsule size, and the manufacturer gives the highest value as 210,000 capsules per hour. A vibrating screw feeder removes dust, and a three-stage safety arrangement prevents rejected product from mixing back in.
