FaSSCoF simulates fasted state and FeSSCoF fed state human colonic fluid and contains the physiological components found in colonic fluid, such as bile salt and lipids. They are used to assess how drugs and modified release products intended for colonic delivery dissolve; they are generally less useful for immediate release drugs. The two products are sold as separate packs.
