PEEK is a biocompatible, flexible polymer that is chemically inert to most solvents and chemicals and can replace stainless steel tubing in most liquid analytical systems; it has a very smooth inner surface and is the least gas-permeable of the polymer tubing materials. Most 1/16" OD tubing is colour-coded for identifying ID. It can be used up to 100 °C and tolerates 2,000 psi (138 bar) to 7,000 psi (483 bar) depending on wall thickness. Delivered in 5 ft (1.5 m) lengths, with many dimensions also in 50 ft and 100 ft lengths.
