A load cell measures hardness up to 500 N, with the unit selectable as N, kgf or lbf. Upper (T1) and lower (T2) tolerance limits are programmable; ten test values are displayed and printed and the average of the stored values is calculated. A printer connects through the RS 232 port and the tester runs on a rechargeable battery. The manufacturer states that it complies with USP requirements.
