For tubing connections to seal and to avoid dead volumes, tubing ends must be straight and the fluid path must not be squeezed or burred. Biotech Fluidics supplies tubing cutting tools for polymeric tubing in various sizes and for fused silica capillaries; each cutter is designed for a specific material and tubing dimension. The A-327, A-329 and A-350 are only for polymer tubing (only A-350 suits capillary dimensions) and the FS-315 only for fused silica. Stainless steel and PEEKsil™ should never be cut manually.
